I have been involved in the Phase 1 team for almost 10 years and since June 2021 I have been the first to fulfill the role of Clinical Alliance Manager.

A new position within our institute that arose from the need to further strengthen the collaboration between clinic and industry.

I focus entirely on the collaborations between our team and external parties and networks that are important for early clinical research. The fun challenge here is opening doors: connecting the right people, mapping out the needs of all parties and seeing where the match is. It is so nice to see when we get a real collaboration off the ground in which the expertise from the clinic and the industry reinforce each other. It is extra fun to fulfill this role within the NKI, because the results of a collaboration are immediately visible in practice and research and patient care are combined in a smooth way.
