Information for patients

Sometimes the standard treatments for cancer are not (or no longer) possible or have insufficient effect. In that case, participation in early clinical research may be an option. Early clinical research is research in which new treatments or drugs are given to patients for the first time. The goal is to see whether a treatment is safe, what dosage works well and whether it has an effect on the disease. This is done through many different studies.
