Refer

A referral to the NKI Centre for Early Clinical Trials is always made via the treating physician. In collaboration with the treating physician, we carefully assess whether participation in early clinical research may be an appropriate treatment option. Transparency, fast triage and clear feedback are central to this.

How do I refer my patient for early clinical examination?

  • Step 1: Fill out the referral form

If you would like to refer your patient directly, please fill in this referral form . In the 'Diagnosis/suspicion' field, choose phase 1. Once this form has been completed in full and all the necessary documents have been attached, the application will be processed by our planning department. Would you like to contact our medical specialists about a study first? Then mail to fase1@nki.nl.

  • Step 2: patient is called to discuss options

A planner from the Center for Early Clinical Examination will contact your patient to schedule an appointment. During this appointment, the internist-oncologist will discuss the options available and assess whether your patient is eligible for the study.

  • Step 3: patient can read further and consider participation

After the conversation, an information leaflet is given. After the appointment, your patient can read more about what participating in an early clinical trial means and thus make an informed choice.
