Gerrina Ruiter

Gerrina Ruiter has been working as a pulmonologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2019. She works at both the Thoracic Oncology Department and the Center for Early Clinical Studies. She specializes in early clinical research in patients with various forms of lung cancer or mesothelioma. She indicates that every patient is unique and this makes finding a personalized treatment method one of the most valuable aspects of her job. She therefore decided to focus entirely on the treatment of lung cancer, which led to her current position. As a member of the phase I studies and clinical research group at the Center for Early Clinical Studies of the Netherlands Cancer Institute, she is particularly interested in the early development of drugs for patients with small cell and non-small cell lung cancer and malignant pleural mesotheliomas.
